Manhunt Underway for Fugitive Geovanni Otera
The hunt for Geovanni Otera, a fugitive wanted in connection with the murder of his ex-girlfriend, has significantly intensified. A U.S. Marshals Service official confirmed that a special task force has been assigned to track down Otera, with the assurance that he will eventually come “face to face” with the law.
Otera is accused of brutally murdering his ex-girlfriend and burying her in a shallow grave. His ex-girlfriend, a 24-year-old woman from Jacksonville, Florida, was reported missing in early June. Her remains were later unearthed in a wooded area in the outskirts of the city. An autopsy confirmed the cause of death as homicide.
Details of the Gruesome Crime
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, in a press conference, revealed that the victim was last seen alive on June 5th. Friends and family contacted the authorities after she failed to return calls or texts for several days. It was during the subsequent investigation that suspicions began to turn towards Otera. 
Investigators believe that Otera, who shared a tumultuous relationship with the victim, killed her in a fit of rage. He is then alleged to have transported her body to a secluded area, where he buried her in a shallow grave. The murder weapon, a knife allegedly belonging to Otera, was recovered near the crime scene.
Despite an extensive search operation, Otera has managed to evade capture. The U.S. Marshals have now joined the manhunt, and a federal warrant for his arrest has been issued.
Manhunt Intensifies
The U.S. Marshals Service has confirmed that they are working in close collaboration with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and other local law enforcement agencies in the hunt for Otera. They have cited Otera as a “dangerous fugitive” and have urged the public to remain vigilant.
“The hunt is on,” said a U.S. Marshals Service official at a press conference. “We are working round the clock to bring Otera to justice. He cannot run forever, he will come face to face with the law.”
As part of the intensified manhunt, the U.S. Marshals Service has also offered a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to Otera’s capture. Meanwhile, local residents have been advised to exercise caution and to report any suspicious activities to the police.

With Otera still on the run, law enforcement agencies have appealed for public assistance in their investigation. They have urged anyone with information about Otera’s whereabouts to come forward. This includes sightings, known associates, or any information regarding his potential hideouts.
